This winter, IxDF Edmonton presents a series of advanced online sessions led by expert practitioners in UX, product, and design leadership. Each event is designed to dig deep into a focused topic, with space for open conversation and community learning.
The December edition will be a 45-minute talk followed by a 15-minute Q&A on the topic:
“Leading as a Principal Designer: A Case Study in Design Systems”
This talk will explore senior design leadership through the lens of a real-world case study: building a design system from the ground up. The focus will be less about the technical aspects and more on the leadership perspective—strategic thinking, decision-making, and the principal designer’s role in driving vision and influencing teams. It’s designed to provide attendees with practical insights into balancing strategic goals with organizational needs, using the design system project as a framework to unpack these leadership principles.

The January edition will be a hands-on workshop followed by a Q&A session on the topic:
“Research Story – How do you sell your research to stakeholders”
Attendees can expect a hands-on session that bridges research and storytelling. Together, we’ll explore how to translate research findings into narratives that earn buy-in from product leaders and decision-makers. You’ll leave with practical tools for framing insights so they stick — and a clearer sense of how to make research drive action in your organization.
