9. Psychometry

Psychometry is the art of measuring the duration or time relations of cognitive processes, or otherwise quantifying cognitive phenomena and applying a scaling mechanism as a means of comparison between results. Psychometric tests include intelligence tests, vocational tests, personality tests etc. Some examples are the American School Intelligence Test, various academic aptitude tests, the Apperceptive Personality Test, the Bacon-Lerner Vocational Role Index, etc.

It should be noted that psychometric tests lack ecological validity, so the generalisability of the test results should always be carefully considered.
