Mr Tng Tai Hou is a Manager in the Technology Intelligence & Competitive Intelligence team, Exploit Technologies Pte Ltd, the Technology Transfer and Commercialisation division of A*STAR.

Tai Hou has a BSc in Computer Science from the National University of Singapore. He has 18 years of hands-on experience in R&D and project management. Prior to joining ETPL, Tai Hou worked at Ericsson Cyberlab Singapore where he led research teams consisting of ethnographers, industrial designers, marketing staff, and engineers on Mobile Applications and Phone Concepts for Chinese Users. These has resulted in patents, papers, and secured funding for technology evaluation projects within Business Units.

Prior to Ericsson, Tai Hou led the handwriting recognition product development team at KRDL and at Apple. He worked with researchers at Apple-ISS on code optimization and quality control, and with ISS researchers in developing application concepts to visualize the use of technologies.

Tai Hou has filed 5 patents on the topics of handwriting recognition and input methods for Chinese mobile phone users. He has given presentations at conferences in Singapore, US, and China. For example, at the IDSA 2002 in US.
