Meet-Up Details

Hey, Mpls-St Paul Area folks! πŸ‘‹ Join us for a special UX & Product meetup at Minnebar, a free, annual technology β€œ(un)conference.”

The theme of our meetup will be Uncertainty. What does this word mean to you? What do you do when you or others feel uncertain? Do you feel uncertain about anything now? Is uncertainty always a problem?

  • The main Minnebar event will be held at Best Buy headquarters in Richfield on Saturday, April 20. Learn more in the official guide.

  • Our meetup session is scheduled for 1:55 – 2:40 PM (CST) in the β€œChallenge” room. This is located next to the β€œLiving Room.”

    • Tickets are required for entry, but they are free. Get one here.

    • See the official session page for details.

    • Lots of volunteers can help guide you to the location, or you can consult this map.

  • If you want to communicate with other meetup attendees before, during, or after Minnebar, try out the #event-minnebar channel on our Slack workspace.

  • There’s also perks for attendees including a free lunch. πŸ• Sadly, the childcare option is listed as β€œfull." 😒

Hey, folks. A few things:

  1. I’m still seeking a volunteer or two. I don’t really have a list of tasks yet, nor have I done much planning. In addition to needing help with that, I’ll also accept moral support. πŸ™‚

  2. So far, 8+ people expressing interest on this thread, and 20+ people on the official Minnebar page have added their names. This could be a sizable gathering!

  3. I’m told by the Minnebar organizers that the time of our meetup will be decided two days prior, i.e., on Wednesday, April 17. I’ll post an update here as soon as it’s nailed down.

    (If I had known that things would be so uncertain in regards to timing, I may have approached the meetup differently. That said, I’m going to stick with the current plan and hope for the best.)

Meet-up attendees

Members can show their interest to attend a meet-up by clicking β€œAttend this meet-up” button. In addition, since Local Groups events are open to all, non-members can also attend these meet-ups.

Members might be bringing their non-member friends to a Local Group meet-up (and you’re welcome to do the same), but their non-member friends will not be shown as β€œattending” because this feature is only available to members.

P.S.: Note that the number of attendees is not an indication of its value! Small meet-ups work perfectly, and can facilitate deeper, more fruitful conversations.
