Meet-Up Details

Hello Oklahoma UX Designers,

The Dallas Big Design Conference is coming up in September.

It is a great opportunity to see some awesome speakers and make some new connections.

You also have the opportunity to score some side jobs (for those of you looking for them) or even land your first UX gig (if you don't have one yet). However, you'll need a portfolio for that.

IxDF Dallas will be there as well which means you can meet some other members of the IxDF.

I went last year and met Alan Cooper from Cooper Design.

I highly recommend that you go.

They already have the keynote speakers selected, but the full speaker roster will be fleshed out in the end of August. Adobe also makes a strong appearance.

Hi all! Please use this discussion thread to discuss IxDF OKC at the Dallas Big Design Conference held on Sep 20, 2018. Feel free to ask questions about the place, date and time, agenda of the meeting, or anything else.

Just a couple of things about the event:

  1. The first day is a number of workshops. The workshops are intense sessions where you get to work through the topic at hand. I went to a 9 - 5 session on conducting user interviews.
  2. Recruiters from Creative Circle and Tag Agency are there. This is an excellent time to score side gigs. If you need help creating your portfolio for that, please let me know.
  3. There are meetups afterwards, and last year they had a live recording of a UX podcast at the event.

Members can show their interest to attend a meet-up by clicking “Attend this meet-up” button. In addition, since Local Groups events are open to all, non-members can also attend these meet-ups.

Members might be bringing their non-member friends to a Local Group meet-up (and you’re welcome to do the same), but their non-member friends will not be shown as “attending” because this feature is only available to members.

P.S.: Note that the number of attendees is not an indication of its value! Small meet-ups work perfectly, and can facilitate deeper, more fruitful conversations.
