Meetup Conversation

Hi all! Please use this conversation thread to discuss Pick, Click, Flick! — A Fireside Chat with Brad Myers (CMU HCI Director) held on Nov 21, 2025. Feel free to ask questions about the place, date and time, agenda of the meeting, or anything else.

Hi Elijah, great meetup!

It was a pleasure to have Brad A. Myers present at today’s “Pick, Click, Flick! Some Stories about Interaction Techniques” online meetup, expertly facilitated by Elijah-Justin Leano from the Interaction Design Foundation (IxDF). Brad shared valuable insights on HCI interaction techniques, enriched with engaging stories from his extensive IT career.

A particularly fascinating discussion centered on the history and evolution of the “cut and paste” functionality. It’s been some time since we’ve seen significant innovation in cut and paste interaction techniques. With the advancements emerging in human-computer interaction, there’s an exciting opportunity for UX designers to reimagine and innovate more intuitive cut and paste solutions.

If you’re looking to expand your network and engage with inspiring events like this, I highly recommend exploring the Interaction Design Foundation community. It’s a fantastic platform to connect, learn, and grow alongside fellow UX professionals.

Let’s keep the conversation going—feel free to connect with me or share your own experiences.
