he stakes are high: often the only visible or interactive part of the system an end user will experience, the quality of an embedded system's user interface plays a critical role in determining the success of a device. This success could relate to the interactive experience perceived by the end user, where good UI performance is key, or related to adding safety critical functionality to the system, were a single display is used to render graphics from two or more subsystems operating with different Safety Integrity Levels (SIL).
