Hi IxDF Sacramento, are you making a career pivot into UX after doing “something else” for Act I (or Act II, or III)? If so, do you have any interest in a meetup / network over coffee? Share insights and resources, discuss the UX field and your view of things, or just chat about anything else. It’s going to be an informal meetup with fellow designers, would-be UXers, career pivoting pros, and anyone else with an interest in response to the ‘gentle prompting’ from IxDF!

Hi all! Please use this discussion thread to discuss Coffee+UX Meetup for Career Pivoters held on June 29, 2024. Feel free to ask questions about the place, date and time, agenda of the meeting, or anything else.

This is a relaxed meetup for those exploring or actively transitioning into UX/UI, regardless of where you are in your journey. (Personally, I'm pretty dang close to the beginning.)

What to expect:

  • A calm, informal setting (coffee house)

  • Small group or one-on-one conversations

We might talk about career change experiences, how our backgrounds relate to UX/UI, learning resources for UX/UI, and various options on this path. I may bring a few topics (the role of AI comes to mind). But there's no formal agenda - we'll see where the conversation takes us.
