Hi IxDF Lucknow,
It’s been a while since we last connected through an IxDF event. This is a topic I wanted to share with all of us and I’m excited to finally bring it to you in collaboration with Cultur.

As designers, we often focus on solving immediate problems — the first-order effects of our work. But the real impact of design unfolds over time, in how people adapt, reinterpret, and evolve what we create. That’s where second-order thinking becomes crucial. It helps us look beyond the “what” and “how,” and start exploring the deeper question: “What happens next — because of what I designed?”

Join me for a session on Second-Order Thinking for Designers, where we’ll explore:

  • How small design decisions can ripple into large cultural shifts

  • Discuss real-world examples

  • A simple framework to help you anticipate unintended consequences in your own work

It’ll be an interactive session — I’d love to learn from your thoughts, experiences, and perspectives throughout as well. Let’s dive into how we can think not just as creators of experiences, but as shapers of systems.

A gentle reminder that the session on ‘2nd Order Thinking for Designers’ will happen tomorrow (Saturday), from 3pm - 4.30pm. Thank you to all who have signed up! I will await to see you all there.

If you’ve not, you may still consider joining this session as we’ll talk about the impact of Design not just in a slice of time, but across time. How design(s) evolve over time and how being cognizant of that thought process helps us become better designers. The session is virtual and open for all. I’d love to see you all there.
