Herbert Lindenberger is Avalon Foundation Professor Emeritus of Humanities at Stanford University. He is the author of eight books: On Wordworth\'s Prelude Georg Buechner Georg Trakl Historical Drama Saul\'s Fall: A Critical Fiction Opera: The Extravagant Art The History in Literature: On Value, Genres, Institutions Opera in History: From Monteverdi to Cage and of essays on topics related to these books as well as topics such as Jewish anti-Nazi resistance in Germany and the interrelationships of the arts.
