Join us on Nov 22 for Build Your IA Playbook - Navigation, a FREE webinar for UX designers, product designers, and information architects.

In this session we'll continue to build your IA playbook –  tools and techniques for doing information architecture.

This webinar will include two team plays – collaborative activities for bringing others into the IA process – and a thinking play – techniques for stretching your imagination and analysis skills.

🦑 Build the nav (team play)

Create primary navigation categories, constrained with preexisitng options.

🦑 Even/over (team play)

Identify acceptable trade-offs when designing navigation systems.

🦑 Inside-out (thinking play)

Start from the middle and work your way out to define hierarchical categories.

Team plays come with a FigJam you can copy to facilitate your own activities, and thinking plays come with some prompts.

The webinar is about 40 minutes going through the plays and about 20 minutes of ask-me-anything with Dan Brown.

📅 Important dates

Friday, December 6 - Applications Due

Friday, December 13 - Interviews Scheduled

(Note that if this year is anything like last year, the number of responses combined with the constraints of space-time prohibits me from interviewing everyone.)

Mentoring is important to me because my greatest professional joy is helping designers become the best version of themselves. I also love sharing what I've learned with others. Our monthly conversations also keep me connected to the greater UX and IA design community, and now more than ever I depend on those connections to keep me grounded.”

-Dan Brown

Testimonials:

"My monthly check-ins with Dan were an anchor that allowed me to take a step back from the day-to-day and think intentionally about my career. Dan asked very helpful, pointed questions that cut to the core of whatever ramblings I brought to him. I left each session feeling better about whatever challenge I faced in the moment and the outlook of my career overall."

— 2022 Mentee

"Dan's mentorship helped me navigate a complex work environment while I experienced significant personal and professional changes. Through our conversations, I gained clarity about my trajectory and ultimately earned a promotion. I recommend Dan's mentorship to anyone who appreciates both deep reflection and lighthearted humor while working through their career challenges."
