Meet-Up Details

Hi IxDF Seattle, let's meet up and network over coffee! Share UX design insights and resources, discuss UX problems you are facing now, or just chat about anything else. It's going to be an informal, cozy meet-up with fellow designers!

Meet-Up Discussion

Hi all! Please use this discussion thread to discuss UX and Coffee held on Aug 25, 2019. Feel free to ask questions about the place, date and time, agenda of the meeting, or anything else.

Hi everyone! Thrilled to be a new IxDF student and to join our Seattle group. I live in Renton and I'm wondering where you'll meet in August 25th. I'm an outgoing, adventurous person except when it comes to coffee - the smell of coffee literally gives me headaches. I can't participate in this group if our meetings are held in a coffee shop although I can be at a table where others are drinking coffee. Can't be around coffee in Seattle...why me?!

That is a tough situation but if there is an outdoor seating area it's possible to make it work.

Hi all, I am looking forward to this meetup and it will be my first! Does anybody know where it will be held?

So It sounds like everything is a bit up in the air here on this one. So I figured let's get the brainstorm going, how does the shop called Uptown Espresso in West Seattle sound? Decent parking lot, good selection of treats and drinks and a fair amount of space to gather. I look forward to linking up and networking with all of you where ever we choose.

I like that idea!

Fine with me, I'll be on Lower Queen Anne until then.
Note that Google Maps shows two Uptown Expresso locations in W. Seattle, but only 3845 Delridge Way SW is open past 6pm.

Otherwise, there's 3 other locations near Seattle Center, e.g. Pier 70 on the waterfront.

Is this happening?

hopefully. I'm about to head that way...

I was thinking uptown on California ave

is the California location open past 6 pm ?

did anyone remember to bring an IxDF sign or something? Don't want to ask at every table...

I don't know what time they close to be honest it was just a suggestion because we had no location. I'm about 30 minutes out. Hope it's still going in when I get there.

So I looked this up and my GPS says that it's closed. 😑

Meet-up attendees

Members can show their interest to attend a meet-up by clicking “Attend this meet-up” button. In addition, since Local Groups events are open to all, non-members can also attend these meet-ups.

Members might be bringing their non-member friends to a Local Group meet-up (and you’re welcome to do the same), but their non-member friends will not be shown as “attending” because this feature is only available to members.

P.S.: Note that the number of attendees is not an indication of its value! Small meet-ups work perfectly, and can facilitate deeper, more fruitful conversations.
