Meet-Up Details

Hi IxDF Seattle, let’s meet online while UX Designer, Aimee Danger talks about unique challenges of designing for kids and teens!

About Aimee: Over 10 years of product design experience in IoT, wearables, AR/VR, web, and mobile working with brands such as Nike, Intel, GE, and most currently, Amazon.  In all her work, she incorporates and evangelizes the human-centered design approach to drive equity, accessibility, and universal design on products and services.

Meetup agenda (from Aimee): In 2017 I was the lead UX designer on an interactive, screen-free learning platform for kids aged 2-6 (play rug) with Intel. As bleeding-edge technology, this required extensive in-house user testing. This experience, along with my work with NWEA as the lead designer on their student testing platform, gave me valuable insights into the challenges of designing digital products for kids. Fun fact: you should design as if users have visual, motor, and cognitive disabilities if you're designing for people under the age of 8. In this presentation, I will share some of the insights and tips I learned from working with people aged 4-18.

Meet-up attendees

Members can show their interest to attend a meet-up by clicking “Attend this meet-up” button. In addition, since Local Groups events are open to all, non-members can also attend these meet-ups.

Members might be bringing their non-member friends to a Local Group meet-up (and you’re welcome to do the same), but their non-member friends will not be shown as “attending” because this feature is only available to members.

P.S.: Note that the number of attendees is not an indication of its value! Small meet-ups work perfectly, and can facilitate deeper, more fruitful conversations.
