Meet-Up Discussion

Hi all! Please use this discussion thread to discuss Melbourne Coffee - UX Design held on May 19, 2018. Feel free to ask questions about the place, date and time, agenda of the meeting, or anything else.

Looking forward to attending a meetup outside of work hours.

I will only be able to make your meetings during the week, but have a great time everyone who can attend

has a time and place been established yet

Hi Guys, just to get things moving and to see whether this event is actually happing, can I put forward 'The Crafty Squire' 127 Russell St. I've not been there, but it's central - and it has beer.

I still don't know what time the meet up is going to be and is the location at 'The Crafty Squire'?

I'm happy to meet at The Crafty Squire. Would 12.30 suit anyone?

I’m flexible but a little concerned the place and time is not yet set. Is this the normal process?

Hey David, no shouldn't be the normal process. The organiser should specify the date and time when creating the meeting invite.

I believe you get IxDF recognition credits for organising events, I hope that isn't the only reason this meet up was created without confirming details.

Thanks Barbara-Anne. I was thinking it's a bit strange. Hopefully we can get another organised a bit better.

Hey,

I agree there was a poor organization /communication for this event. I'm happy to catch up next weekend.

Hi all, not sure who was planning this either. Which is why I selected something to get things started. I've not been to one of these either. Will play it by ear this afternoon and if enough say they are going, then I'll make the trip up to the city. As many on this list might not be viewing IxDF emails outside of work times, I'd be surprised if tonight happens.

Same here Timothy. Hopefully we can make the next meet work.

Hey everyone, can't wait to meet up with you. Fitzroy suits me very well, so will look forward to updates :-)

Meet-up attendees

Members can show their interest to attend a meet-up by clicking “Attend this meet-up” button. In addition, since Local Groups events are open to all, non-members can also attend these meet-ups.

Members might be bringing their non-member friends to a Local Group meet-up (and you’re welcome to do the same), but their non-member friends will not be shown as “attending” because this feature is only available to members.

P.S.: Note that the number of attendees is not an indication of its value! Small meet-ups work perfectly, and can facilitate deeper, more fruitful conversations.
