Meet-Up Discussion

Hi all! Please use this discussion thread to discuss Lean Coffee held on Jun 18, 2020. Feel free to ask questions about the place, date and time, agenda of the meeting, or anything else.

Please only mark that you are attending if you are fully confident that you will be there.

This is a highly conversational format so if you consistently have bad connections to similar calls please consider attending solely to listen.

All, 2 things I will ask of you regarding Thursday's Lean Coffee:

1) Try to access the Trello Board and reach out if you have challenges. Please do this before Wednesday of this week: https://trello.com/b/EtbxQcA8/lean-coffee-06-18-2020

If you want you can add a card to the "Individual Introductions" column. We probably won't revisit these during the meeting but it might be fun to learn more about each other before the meetup.

2) Come to this thread a few minutes before the meeting starts. I have yet experience a flawless meetup and this is the central point where I will be posting updates.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone and participating in IxDF D.C.'s first Lean Coffee!

Matt

Checking in to see if everyone has everything they need to attend. Your checklist:

1) You can access the trello board and have posted your intro

https://trello.com/b/EtbxQcA8/lean-coffee-06-18-2020

2) You have successfully voted for a card (hint: you have to open the card and click on the vote button below the "Power Ups" heading)

3) Put in your calendar to visit this thread just before the meeting in case something changes with the technology.

Thank you for your interest and hopefully we will see you on Thursday!

Matt

A huge thank you to everyone who joined today. We had a great discussion and explored 6 topics including:

-Best practices for portfolio development

-How do you conduct research if you are doing a portfolio project

-Remote work tools around research

-Getting started in a career in UX as someone changing careers

-How to balance your efforts while learning UX

It was a great conversation and I look forward to the next round!

Please log in or join us to post comments in the discussion.

Meet-up attendees

Members can show their interest to attend a meet-up by clicking “Attend this meet-up” button. In addition, since Local Groups events are open to all, non-members can also attend these meet-ups.

Members might be bringing their non-member friends to a Local Group meet-up (and you’re welcome to do the same), but their non-member friends will not be shown as “attending” because this feature is only available to members.

P.S.: Note that the number of attendees is not an indication of its value! Small meet-ups work perfectly, and can facilitate deeper, more fruitful conversations.
