It’s been a busy spring and so many new members have joined. Let’s kick off the summer and meetup on zoom to network with one another. Plus, share our interests and experiences with current UX topics. Also, please let me know if this day and time doesn’t work for you. We can plan a time that works for us as a group to have regular meetups.

Hello, Heather and Co. I just started with IxDF and am looking forward to learning and growing with you. I live in Potomac, MD, so I assume this is the proper local group for me to align with. I’m interested in the 6/20 meetup - assuming I can get down that way. Please share more details on time and place. Agenda would be swell, but I’m more looking to meet folks and experience a meetup firsthand - for now.

Hi Christopher! Welcome to IxDF NOVA. Yes! you can participate and attend any of our events. This event on 6/20 12pm-1pm is virtual via Zoom https://www.interaction-design.org/local-group/north-america/united-states/virginia/northern-virginia-dulles. Since this is the first meeting of the year with so many new members, there’s no agenda or topic right now other than sharing about our backgrounds and interests. If there’s enough interest, we can plan for an in-person event. Meet-up attendees

Members can show their interest to attend a meet-up by clicking “Attend this meet-up” button. In addition, since Local Groups events are open to all, non-members can also attend these meet-ups.

Members might be bringing their non-member friends to a Local Group meet-up (and you’re welcome to do the same), but their non-member friends will not be shown as “attending” because this feature is only available to members.

P.S.: Note that the number of attendees is not an indication of its value! Small meet-ups work perfectly, and can facilitate deeper, more fruitful conversations.
