Please note, this link will expire in 30 days (a Slack Policy), we’ll replace the link at that time.

Thank you, Ipsita.

Gladly! Thank you for hosting a local meet up!
Do join us in the Slack, things get quiet at the end of the year, but you’ll be set up and will be able to post this in the chapter slack too.

We’re working on dates for online events in January, February and March, and its the place for general questions and announcements.

Hi Prince, The IXDF event widget does not respond well when the date of the event is changed, the part of the form that generates the calendar item retains the old date and the discussion underneath doesn’t reflect the date change.

At the bottom of the copy for the chapter, there is a link to guidelines and expectations for member sponsored in person events. One of the reasons is that Event invite notifications go to nearly 400 people associated with the Chicago chapter.

If you ended up cancelling last weekend’s event you have to do so explicitly in advance

If this is a recurring event, you need to make sure that is clear in a brand new event item, because of the calendar editing glitch. And if this turning into a regular coffee for those in and around Normal, that’s great!

The regarding member created events for the Chicago Chapter:

Oh, my God. I didn’t know that.

Prince it isn't obvious, and it's great if you all have regular coffee meet up.

Please log in or join us to post comments in the discussion.

Meet-up attendees

Members can show their interest to attend a meet-up by clicking “Attend this meet-up” button. In addition, since Local Groups events are open to all, non-members can also attend these meet-ups.

Members might be bringing their non-member friends to a Local Group meet-up (and you’re welcome to do the same), but their non-member friends will not be shown as “attending” because this feature is only available to members.

P.S.: Note that the number of attendees is not an indication of its value! Small meet-ups work perfectly, and can facilitate deeper, more fruitful conversations.
