Meet-Up Discussion

Hi all! Please use this discussion thread to discuss Figma 102 (a lunch'n learn) held on Jul 30, 2020. Feel free to ask questions about the place, date and time, agenda of the meeting, or anything else.

Hello! Can you confirm that this event is at 12 pm ET on July 30? The calendar event is appearing at 5 pm.

Hey Alyce,

Yes, I can confirm it's 12-1pm EST July 30! For some reason the IxDF platform is using a different time zone for the calendar integration and I can't get around it. I've flagged this to operations!

Hey guys! What do you mean by "calendar integration"? iCalendar, Outlook, Google calendar links or something else?

For me, using google calendar, the time zone is set incorrectly. Change it to EST and it will fix itself.

Hey everyone, yes calendar integration, for example google calendar, will display incorrectly. The scheduled time for this lunch and learn is 12-1 pm EST. Thanks!

I had some glitch with the calendar it seems, but it sounds very interesting - was there a recording by any chance? :)

Too bad I read this too late:( Hope to catch you all next time!

Oh no, Google Calendar told me it's happening now (5pm est) instead of 12....I missed it....

Ok. this was a HUGE fail in event management.

5PM EST, waiting for the event to start only to read in this thread that the event time was incorrect in the calendar invite.

Well next time I guess.

Meet-up attendees

Members can show their interest to attend a meet-up by clicking “Attend this meet-up” button. In addition, since Local Groups events are open to all, non-members can also attend these meet-ups.

Members might be bringing their non-member friends to a Local Group meet-up (and you’re welcome to do the same), but their non-member friends will not be shown as “attending” because this feature is only available to members.

P.S.: Note that the number of attendees is not an indication of its value! Small meet-ups work perfectly, and can facilitate deeper, more fruitful conversations.
