What are Local Groups?
Local Groups will expand your career network—whether you are interested in learning new skills, finding job opportunities or looking for a new employee.
A Local Group is a group of people who, like you, are passionate about design. Local Groups organize meetings to get inspired, have fun and learn from one another.

Meet-Up Details

Hi IxDF Seattle, long time admirer of IxDF and now a new member. I’ve been teaching Design Thinking and about to wrap up another session. This has led me to reflect on the curriculum and perhaps re-think it.

I’d love to discuss methods and resources that might improve the curriculum and student experience. Interested? Let’s meet online and discuss! Here’s what I thought we could start with:

  • Thoughts and experience with DT curriculum

  • What works and how might we improve upon it?

  • Remote, virtual instruction and other impacts

  • Recommended resources for teachers and students

Meet-Up Discussion

Hi all! Please use this discussion thread to discuss Design Thinking Curriculum Discussion held on Dec 9, 2021. Feel free to ask questions about the place, date and time, agenda of the meeting, or anything else.

Yes! I’ll be using Design Thinking/design sprints in an independent study I created for myself in Winter, so really excited to listen and offer any feedback from the student side of things. See you there!

Amanda, are you using those methodologies in isolation or with a team?

We’re allowed a team of 4 for the competition I’m entering with the final product (the Solutions Challenge through Google), but it could just end up being me.

I will spend the first week narrowing down which of the 17 UN sustainability goals I’d like to address, and then I will research the users and kick off the following week with the design sprint.

Hey Amanda, Hey David,

This seems like a cool sit-down. I look forward to hearing others’ perspectives of the Design Thinking methods. I hope I can contribute to the conversation, but if not just listening in will be fun I’m sure. I’ll See you guys on the call.

Meet-up attendees

Members can show their interest to attend a meet-up by clicking “Attend this meet-up” button. In addition, since Local Groups events are open to all, non-members can also attend these meet-ups.

Members might be bringing their non-member friends to a Local Group meet-up (and you’re welcome to do the same), but their non-member friends will not be shown as “attending” because this feature is only available to members.

P.S.: Note that the number of attendees is not an indication of its value! Small meet-ups work perfectly, and can facilitate deeper, more fruitful conversations.
