A Local Group is a group of people who, like you, are passionate about design. Local Groups organize meetings to get inspired, have fun and learn from one another.

Meet-Up Details

Hello IxDF New York City! Let's meet up and network over coffee or tea to share UX design insights and resources, discuss UX problems you are facing now, or just chat about anything design-related. It's going to be an informal, cozy meet-up with fellow designers!

The space has been confirmed, we will be meeting on the 2nd floor of Pratt Manhattan. I will send over the guest list tomorrow so please RSVP if you intend to come. Please bring proper ID to be allowed entrance to the building. As an alternative to waiting for the elevator, it may be easier and quicker to walk up instead (there's an open stairwell located to the right of security). Please note, no children or pets are allowed and folding bikes only.

Feel free to text or call me at 917-344-9697 with any questions upon arrival. And to be clear, BYOB means Bring Your Own Beverage, meaning coffee or tea, no alcohol. Looking forward to meeting everyone!

Meet-Up Discussion

Hi all! Please use this discussion thread to discuss Coffee/Tea + UX Meetup held on Dec 14, 2019. Feel free to ask questions about the place, date and time, agenda of the meeting, or anything else.

Hi vonetta, may i know the timings & place ?

actually i just joined IDF, can i join u guys for meet up?

Hi Himaleela, yes, please join us. I haven’t picked a place yet but am thinking around Union Square or the Village. Stay posted

I'm new to IxDF. I'd like to join the Meet-up.

Great, please join us, location has been updated.

I am also new to IxDF ,I am really excited for the meet up.Please update about the location.

That's great, I am looking forward to it as well, just updated the location.

Hi Everyone! Also new here. Union Square sounds like a great spot — many connecting trains :-)

Definitely convenient. Location is updated, it's near West Village/Chelsea, a short distance from Union Square.

How about the Grey Dog on 16th? Close to Union Square & on L as well as A lines

I think that's a great spot but am not sure we would be able to secure the space needed for the number of attendees. So am hosting it at my school where they have larger space available.

Hi--unfortunately I have family flying in on December 14th. But I hope to meet you all at the next meeting. Enjoy!

Enjoy your family time and see you next time!

Hi All! We were looking over the attendees and there are a few people who didn't include a last name which we will need for security check-in. Please go ahead and update that so that we have the full information and there aren't any issues upon arrival. Thanks!

Hi, I sent over the attendee list for security registration. Looking forward to meeting everyone on Saturday. It's super casual but please bring some things you would like to discuss as we look ahead to 2020.

Thanks to everyone who came out to the meetup today! The discussion was great as we talked about our backgrounds, experience, and goals, design and the UX field, grad school vs. bootcamps and what is important when seeking a job (soft skills matter but you need a portfolio with real world examples). Please send any suggestions for the next Meetup, am happy to host the next one in January and continue the conversation about UX and all things design-related.

Please log in or join us to post comments in the discussion.

Meet-up attendees

Members can show their interest to attend a meet-up by clicking “Attend this meet-up” button. In addition, since Local Groups events are open to all, non-members can also attend these meet-ups.

Members might be bringing their non-member friends to a Local Group meet-up (and you’re welcome to do the same), but their non-member friends will not be shown as “attending” because this feature is only available to members.

P.S.: Note that the number of attendees is not an indication of its value! Small meet-ups work perfectly, and can facilitate deeper, more fruitful conversations.
