Meet-Up Details

Hi IxDF Seattle! I'm really excited to present our next guest speaker meetup featuring Brian Monzingo.

Brian is a seasoned design leader with 15 years of experience helping cross-functional teams develop innovative hardware and software experiences that are fun to use, easy to build and good for business. A native Texan, Brian holds a fine art degree from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. His hobbies include drawing, photography and spending time with his wife and kids.

Brian's presentation is titled:

"I might be wrong: lessons of love from lean UX."

A great big idea that goes untested is a great big assumption - and a great big risk! Don't wait too long to find out you're wrong; it's bad for business (and team morale). Learn how to de-risk your ideas with lean UX. Strengthen your team relationships so you can move fast and focus on what matters.

Brian's presentation will last approximately 45 minutes with 15 minutes left for Q&A. Often meetups go longer, though, and that's why there's an extra hour :)

Finally, and this is VERY important, please do not commit unless you are 100% certain you can attend! We've had numerous meetups with poor attendance compared to those committed, and it affects the meetings. Remember, empathy for your users (the rest of the attendees). See you soon!

Meet-up attendees

Members can show their interest to attend a meet-up by clicking “Attend this meet-up” button. In addition, since Local Groups events are open to all, non-members can also attend these meet-ups.

Members might be bringing their non-member friends to a Local Group meet-up (and you’re welcome to do the same), but their non-member friends will not be shown as “attending” because this feature is only available to members.

P.S.: Note that the number of attendees is not an indication of its value! Small meet-ups work perfectly, and can facilitate deeper, more fruitful conversations.
