Farzam Farbiz was born in Tehran, Iranin 1970. He received his Ph.D. degree in electronics from Amirkabir University of Technology in 1999. From 1990 till 2001 he worked on different research projects in different areas: Real time automatic target recognition of ships using computer vision techniques, High Impedance Fault (HIF) detection in power distributed networks by a novel algorithm implemented on a dedicated parallel processing system, Computer control of 3 phase generator, Application computational intelligence methods in image processing. He won the first prize of young researcher award in 1999 because of his research works.
In 2001 he joined to National University of Singapore, NUS as a research fellow and continued his research life there on many projects in field of augmented and mixed reality, featuring 3DLive, Human Pacman, Poultry Internet (Touchy Internet).
Currently he is an assistant professor in Iran Universityof Science & Technology, IUST, teaching different graduate and undergraduate courses: Advanced computer graphics, Virtual & Augmented reality, Computer vision, and microprocessor.
Farzam Farbiz’s research interests include Human Computer Interaction, Smart Space, Mixed Reality, Computational Intelligence (Fuzzy Logic, Neural Network, Genetic Algorithm) with application in Computer Vision and Image Processing.
