Linda MacAulay

Author: Linda MacAulay

Linda Macaulay is Professor of System Design, Fellow of the British Computer Society and Head of the Information Systems Research Group. Linda is holder of the prestigious IBM Faculty Award 2004-2006 and is an elected EPSRC College member 2003 - 2009 (IT and Computer Science). She served as Head of the Department of Computation at UMIST from 2001 to 2003.

Professor Macaulay's main interest is in how technical system design can be informed by user needs and behavior. Her current research focus is on facilitated collaboration and in particular, how technology can best support the role of the facilitator in distributed meetings. She is working closely with IBM to develop new e-business patterns for facilitated collaboration and to examine the role of e-business patterns in the emerging discipline of Services Science (http://www.research.ibm.com/ssme/workuniv.shtml).
