This is an IDF Local Group meet-up

  • Attendance is free
  • You do not have to be a member of the IDF to attend

What are Local Groups?

IDF Local Groups will expand your local career network - whether you are interested in learning new skills, looking for new job opportunities, new clients for your company, or a great new dedicated employee.

An IDF Local Group is a group of people who are just as passionate about design as you are. Each Local Group holds physical meetings and the agenda is to get inspired, discuss, have fun, learn and improve your career. Meetings take place in a relaxed and fun atmosphere at a local cafe, an office building, or an auditorium depending on the agenda for the meeting. For each Local Group there is also an online Local Group so you can stay in touch and help update each other on local events.

Meet-up description

Hi IDF Berlin, let's meet up and network over coffee and fresh drinks!

The company I cofounded is having a VR Popup Store in Berlin in September. I would like to share some of our UX approaches from past experiences we created and also would like to discuss the field of DDJ in XR.

Let's share UX design insights and resources, discuss UX problems you are facing now, or just chat about anything else. It's going to be an informal, cozy meet-up with fellow designers in a vibrant place!

6 IDF members (and some non-members) are attending:

Meet-up discussion

Hi all! Please use this discussion thread to discuss VR Popup Store IDF XR Interaction Design Meetup held on Sep 11, 2018. Feel free to ask questions about the place, date and time, agenda of the meeting, or anything else.

More info on the weekly event: https://vrpop.tumblr.com/

Hello everyone. Happy that already this meetup has sparked some interest. Since I am professionally involved in XR, the IDF course https://www.interaction-design.org/courses/how-to-... has really sparked my interest and I found much valuable info in it. I would like to encourage you to also take a look into this course, as it will help us have a common understanding and body of knowledge.

No worries though, I will try to refer to parts as much as possible and bring them into context in my own words.

Looking forward to seeing you, soon.

Hello everyone! VR has always been an interesting field for me! It's pity, I don't live in Berlin and I am not able to attend the meetup to get to know more about it. It would be so kind, if anyone would share experience or insights or anything she or he has from the meetup. Thanks!

Hi Jaimie,

sure, we'll take some pictures and notes, since we also want to do some practical work besides just talking ;)

Looking forward,

Hey everyone,

glad that so many of you have expressed their interest so far. Looking forward to meeting you tomorrow.

As a short reminder of the location, we'll meet in a popup store that Vragments - a VR startup I cofounded - has rented for this week. It is located in Oranienstrasse 188, right next to the club SO36. We also have a program covering the whole week -> more info on Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.de/e/vr-pop-up-store-ticket..., so if you already want to come over today and check out some VR, feel free.

The plan would be to meetup, share and create from 3pm to 6pm. After that, there will be drinks and social hours. Drinks are on us.

See you tomorrow,

So here‘s the place we‘ll be meeting up tomorrow.

And here‘s the full schedule for this week.

Hi fellow spatial interaction designers!

Just wanting to thank you for making yesterday's meetup so fun and inspiring. We'll share some impressions of the store via our Twitter (@vragments) / Instagram (@vragmentsinberlin).

If you want to stay in contact, have follow up questions, suggestions or are looking for advice -> stephan@vragments.com or @HelrenPDM on Twitter.

Thx and see you around,

Thanks for organising the event Stephan. Was educational and fun!
