This is an IDF Local Group meet-up

  • Attendance is free
  • You do not have to be a member of the IDF to attend

What are Local Groups?

IDF Local Groups will expand your local career network - whether you are interested in learning new skills, looking for new job opportunities, new clients for your company, or a great new dedicated employee.

An IDF Local Group is a group of people who are just as passionate about design as you are. Each Local Group holds physical meetings and the agenda is to get inspired, discuss, have fun, learn and improve your career. Meetings take place in a relaxed and fun atmosphere at a local cafe, an office building, or an auditorium depending on the agenda for the meeting. For each Local Group there is also an online Local Group so you can stay in touch and help update each other on local events.

Meet-up discussion

Hi all! Please use this discussion thread to discuss New to IDF When is the next Coffee+UX Meetup held on Aug 19, 2019. Feel free to ask questions about the place, date and time, agenda of the meeting, or anything else.

Hi Guys,

Is everyone interested in doing this meet-up? If so what topics do you guys want to discuss with each other?

Hi Andy, Thanks for starting this! It's always great to connect with other UXres in Sydney to network and find out what sort of projects people are working on etc.

Have you got a time and place in mind?

Hi Everyone,

I think if everyone is interested we can try out assembly bar or if no to that we can do Starbucks at George street.

As for time I think 17:00 - 18:00 will be great. That should be good time for some intro and maybe discuss a few topics such as:

  • Projects we are working
  • Maybe exchange some tips or experiences.

Personally I would like to go into meeting and be able to provide value to everyone with my experiences so far in the industry and learn from everyone as well.

Let me know who is keen so I can lock it in my calendar.

Hey Andy,

I'd be keen to have pizzas at Assembly Bar (closer to Town Hall, so easy access from trains as well) if you confirm numbers here :)

Hope more members can make it, it's great to have a chat about the industry and connect with other designers.

Haven't been to the Assembly Bar but it's in a convenient location. This will be my first meet up and really excited about meeting everyone.

Hey all, looking forward to saying hi.

Assembly bar sounds good. They have an 'outside' bit which can be good for meetups too.

Happy to see what everyone is up / working on / planning to work in :)

I'm keen! Assembly Bar sounds great, easy for me to get to on the train (I work in Macquarie Park).

Hey all,

Sounds great. I am looking forward to it so let's all meet at Assembly bar at the time. I will update the details here.

I would like to join you but unfortunately 17:00 - 18:00 is too early for me as I work close to Northern Beaches so it is impossible for me to make it on time :(

Hope next meetup we can schedule for latter time.

No worries, If it all goes well. We definitely would do another meetup and will do a survey on best time for people will be able to attend.

Hi Everyone,

I will definitely be at Assembly bar and if you let me know exact people coming by tomorrow I can see if I can ask for a table if not we can just wing it when we get there.

Hope to you all there tomorrow.

Great meet up. I hope there got some value to the Meetup. Definitely would like to do this again in the future.

Thanks everyone.

Definitely valuable -- it was great meeting you guys, and I loved the diversity of professional backgrounds. Pizza is on me next time ;-)
