This is an IDF Local Group meet-up

  • Attendance is free
  • You do not have to be a member of the IDF to attend

What are Local Groups?

IDF Local Groups will expand your local career network - whether you are interested in learning new skills, looking for new job opportunities, new clients for your company, or a great new dedicated employee.

An IDF Local Group is a group of people who are just as passionate about design as you are. Each Local Group holds physical meetings and the agenda is to get inspired, discuss, have fun, learn and improve your career. Meetings take place in a relaxed and fun atmosphere at a local cafe, an office building, or an auditorium depending on the agenda for the meeting. For each Local Group there is also an online Local Group so you can stay in touch and help update each other on local events.

Meet-up description

Hi IDF Lagos, let's meet online and discuss UX! In our video call, let's get to know each other and share UX problems we’re facing and discuss how we can solve them. Save the date, grab your laptop (or phone!), and let’s see each other online!

51 IDF members (and some non-members) are attending:

Meet-up discussion

Hi all! Please use this discussion thread to discuss IDF Lagos Online Hangout held on Jun 27, 2019. Feel free to ask questions about the place, date and time, agenda of the meeting, or anything else.

Hello anyone here?

Hi All, nice to e-meet everyone. Please why is the meeting at midnight? If this is an IDF Lagos Online call, why are we having it at midnight Lagos time :-(.

Please, why set up the online meetup at midnight?

This is a local online meet-up shouldn't the organizer consider an appropraite time specific to Lagos IDF members only and not for IDF members around the globe.

You said we should ask questions about the date and time when its clearly been set. I would really appreciate if there is a considerable change to the time only.

Also, why do we need to ask questions about the place. It's an online meet up or am I missing something?

Can this be sorted out, please?

Many thanks.

I agree with you; we absolutely need to reschedule the time if not the date.

Hello to everyone. Nice to be here.

Hoping to learn more from you guys

Please this meet-up need to be rescheduled. Thanks.

Hello fellow UXers,

I'm delighted that someone took this step to create a meetup for us in Lagos. Big ups!!!

I have also noticed a couple of friends complain about the timing which I think the facilitator should urgently look into.

Thank you very much, I will look forward to a revised invite to a more suitable time and day. I will also advised the day should be on a weekend and not week day as a lot of our members are likely to be mostly working class and might be difficult for them to attend a conference while at work.

Thank you again their facilitator.

Hi,

Glad to be here! Looking forward to learning with and from you.

I am a business analyst, CX designer, and sharing/circular economy enthusiast with experience in retail analytics, project and performance management, business operations and services (Finance and Tech), event management and business transformation.

Counting down to the meet-up already, think the time should be reviewed, as suggested by others too.

Can't wait to attend this meet up and meet a lot of great guys!!!!

Good to have you here Malik. Your experiences seems rather interesting bro. This is the first time I'm coming across "CX designer" as a profession.

If I may ask, is there any difference between a CX and UX designer

Hi Opeyemi, good to find you here!

Well, CX design exists, somewhat popular in the design space as well.

Yea, there’s a difference between a CX designer and a UX designer. The CX designer creates solutions that cut across all the customer experience touch-points (e.g. contact center, exhibition booth, website / app design, ATM gallery etc.) of a brand; whilst a UX designer creates solutions aimed at optimizing a user’s experience (e.g. taste of a product, products sampling, website / app navigation, ATM usage etc.) on a brand’s product or service. Thus, UX design is a subset of CX design.rQ7LzGmJyAUlbxwBW2Jbd1qFXuI8f6565mZQrabO.jpeg
