This is Local Group meet-up

  • Attendance is free
  • You do not have to be a member of the IDF to attend

What are Local Groups?

IDF Local Groups will expand your local career network - whether you are interested in learning new skills, looking for new job opportunities, new clients for your company, or a great new dedicated employee.

An IDF Local Group is a group of people who are just as passionate about design as you are. Each Local Group holds physical meetings and the agenda is to get inspired, discuss, have fun, learn and improve your career. Meetings take place in a relaxed and fun atmosphere at a local cafe, an office building, or an auditorium depending on the agenda for the meeting. For each Local Group there is also an online Local Group so you can stay in touch and help update each other on local events.

Meet-Up Details

Hi IDF Toronto, let's meet up and network over coffee! Share UX design insights and resources, discuss UX problems you are facing now, or just chat about anything else. It's going to be an informal, cozy meet-up with fellow designers!

6 IDF members (and some non-members) are attending

Meet-Up Discussion

Hi all! Please use this discussion thread to discuss Coffee + UX Meetup held on May 6, 2018. Feel free to ask questions about the place, date and time, agenda of the meeting, or anything else.

Great Idea!

Awesome! Hope I can make it back from my trip in time to attend :)

Great idea! I’ll be happy to meet you, guys

Looking forward to meeting you guys!

Hi fellow Toronto members! Can I assume most people are looking for a place to meet near a subway stop, or prefer driving?

If TTC, I can suggest cafes along the Bloor West line, or closer to Spadina/King centre. Where are most people coming from?

Hi everyone! I'm just a student looking to learn about UX design and break into the field eventually, would it be okay for me to attend? I'd love to get some insight from the professionals.

This is an old post (2014) but pretty relevant to help this meetup zero-in on a location.

Selection Criteria:

  1. By a subway stop for access
  2. Extra space for 19+ patrons arriving at once

Hi neighbors, I may come in from Buffalo for this. Right now our UX community is relatively small in Buffalo; I would love to meet some other people in my industry!

Any movement on a location for this?

Hi Guys. Any updates on the place and time??

I say someone should suggest a possible location. I realize it's a coffee group, but few places could handle the influx of 26 people. Perhaps a quiet pub would work better for such a large group? More convivial as well. Just a thought.

Hey guys! Have we decided on where to meet yet?

How many people are coming? if the weather is nice we should meet outside somewhere like queens park? we can walk up along philosopher's walk and head to the Tim Horton's at Bedford and Bloor?

I don't drink but there are a ton of pubs in that location so we can spill into one afterwards.

hello all.

There doesn’t appear to be much movement on this meet-up as far as time and location goes.

Might I suggest joining the UXPA meet up May 14 at Paupers Pub from 7-10. Not sure if you have to be a member, just let them know you’re attending so they can plan for it.

You should join the UXPA anyway, as it is the local body for all UX professionals in the GTA and it is very reasonable to join.

Here’s the link.

Thanks Andrew, I've marked my calendar. I'm definitely coming to that.

how’s about the Drake at Queen & Dovercourt?

A) they’ve got a great patio, cafe and also lounge that’ll accommodate us.

B) no affiliation with the singer/rapper

Queen West is the Art and Design district of Toronto, how suiting

So folks, any word on where abouts are we meeting tomorrow? I've been looking forward to the meet up for two weeks now.

I’m kind of disappointed the leads on this didn’t come through with a time and place.
