The conference brings together people working in all areas in which a visual image can have adverse effects on the viewer. These include temporal changes (e.g. photosensitive epilepsy), spatial changes (e.g. pattern disturbaance) as well as visually-induced motion sickness and symptoms induced by various displays (e.g. stereoscopic images).
This is the second call for abstracts for VIMS 2013, a conference covering all aspects of Visual Image Safety.
The conference will be held in a beautiful hotel/golf resort in Shakespeare’s Stratford-upon-Avon, England between 3rd and 5th September. Stratford-upon-Avon has been chosen as it is easily reached from either Heathrow or Birmingham International airport, and accommodation is reasonably-priced. The dates have been chosen to allow delegates from abroad the opportunity to visit other parts of the UK before and after the conference.
The closing date for abstracts is now 31st July, and notification of acceptance will be on 2nd August, allowing sufficient time for booking travel and accommodation. Authors of abstracts selected by the conference committee will be invited to submit a full paper to be published in the journal ‘Displays’.
