Hello everyone and happy weekend. I just wanted to reach out and tell you about myself. I’m a public school teacher taking steps to make a career change. I’m inclined towards creativity: making things, drawing, painting watercolors, playing musical instruments. Once upon a time, I did an associates degree in computer networking and was A+ certified just in time for the tech bubble burst. Then, I became a carpenter and then a teacher.
Now, many moons later, i’m Looking for a fresh start in a more satisfying career. Friends of mine in the field have pulled me in this direction. Currently, I’m reading all I can about UX/UI. I’m enrolled in classes here, in the IxDF community and also studying InDesign and XD by myself. I’m very thankful for this resource.
As the organizer of this event, I’d like to say what I had in mind for a meetup would be general discussion and “getting started in a UX career. Also, if anyone has a certain topic they’d like to discuss, please say so here. One thing i’m Definitely good at is research. I’ll come prepared. I’m a newbie and ready to soak all up everything y’all have to share, like a sponge.
I’ll get to Kavarna and save a table in the morning and i’m Looking forward to meeting you.
