If I am asked: “Felipe, what is your book about?”, the answer would be “It is about main points to think about when designing Internet products”.
The book is about the design process in general terms, about Interaction Design and usability tests. They are fundamental issues that deserve full attention. However, it also approaches features that go beyond the design of the “object” and user friendliness. They are the features that matter most for the product, that is, that are capable of providing a pleasant experience, making people feel happy to be using what has been designed.
And that is the point I wish to make: It is not simply designing a pretty, functional site to have a successful product. The “concept” of the product is the major idea. It is the experience it provides that matters above anything else. For that to happen, it is necessary to explore the feature that differs most the internet from other media: the great number of people connected.
