I am an assistant professor in the department of computer science and engineering (CSE) at the Tatung University (TTU), Taiwan. My research interests lie in the general area of Human-Computer Interaction, specifically in the fields of Ubiquitous Computing, Context-Aware Computing, Emotion-Aware/Affective Computing, and Social Aspects of Computing. I did my graduate degrees in computer science in the department of computing science (DCS) at the University of Glasgow in the UK. I received the Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Advanced Information Systems in 1999. The title of my master dissertation is "A Preliminary Study of Infrared Communications for Mobile Computing Devices". This is where I gained the experience of developing Sensor-based systems. I then joined the Glasgow Interactive Systems Group (GIST) in the department on a FIMS Faculty Postgraduate Research Scholarships, earning the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science in 2003. The title of my thesis is "The Development and Evaluation of a Prototyping Environment for Context-Sensitive Mobile Computing Interaction". This is where I developed my interests in Context-Aware and Ubiquitous Computing. Prior to join CSE@TTU, I was a postdoctoral fellow in the Division of Computer and Information, Department of Research Resources at the National Health Research Institutes, Taiwan (Jan-Jun 2004) and the Institute of Information Science, Academia Sinica, Taiwan (Jul 2004-Jul 2006).
