Satish Chandra Gupta grew up in the industrial town of Kanpur (India) at the bank of river Ganga. He received a B.Tech. degree in Chemical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur in 1996, and an M.S. degree in Computer Science from University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee (USA) in 2001. At present, he is a Senior Software Engineer in the Rational PurifyPlus group at IBM India. His interests include software development environments, (static & runtime) program analysis, compilers, programming languages, Java memory leaks, type theory, and software engineering. Other dimensions of his life have taken him towards Hindi poetry (he is an amateur poet), tourism and yoga.
