He, Liang, Li, Guang, Zhang, Yang, Wang, Danli and Wang, Hongan (2012): TempoString: a tangible tool for children's music creation. In: Proceedings of the 2012 International Conference on Uniquitous Computing 2012. pp. 643-644.

In this paper, we introduce the design and implementation of TempoString, an easy-to-use tool which assists children with music creation. It provides such a fun and novel platform by allowing children to "draw" music on a canvas and then edit it using a rope. The main contribution of our work is the novel access which allows children to "paint" music on a canvas and then edit using a rope.

Wang, Danli, Zhang, Yang, Gu, Tianyuan, He, Liang and Wang, Hongan (2012): E-Block: a tangible programming tool for children. In: Adjunct Proceedings of the 2012 ACM Symposium on User Interface Software and Technology 2012. pp. 71-72.

E-Block is a tangible programming tool for children aged 5 to 9 which gives children a preliminary understanding of programming. Children can write programs to play a maze game by placing the programming blocks in E-Block. The two stages in a general programming process: programming and running are all embodied in E-Block. We realized E-Block by wireless and infrared technology and gave it feedbacks on both screen and programming blocks. The result of a preliminary user study proved that E-Block is attractive to children and easy to learn and use.
