Dr. Uyttenhove received a PhD degree in 1978 from Binghamton University in the Systems Science Department with a thesis on Problem Solving using Reconstructability Analysis. He has taught at Binghamton University, Cortland College, the Technical University of Delft, the Technical University of Eindhoven in the Netherlands.
In 1981 he founded a company in the Netherlands now known as Cosyco IT Solutions. In 2000 he started a country partnership in the Belgium/Netherlands/Luxemburg region for Panda Software International. He is currently president of this Benelux company which is a leading supplier of antivirus, anti-spyware and various other security products. He resides in the US where he is also founder and president of IT-Sentry, Inc, a security software distributor.
