Carl Zetie

Carl is an analyst with Forrester Research, and before that with Giga Information Group. His career in IT goes back to the early 1980s when he worked as an apprentice programmer on real time distributed control systems (building automation/management systems). In retrospect he is amazed at the stuff he was allowed to work on as an underexperienced, overconfident eighteen year old.
Most of his career has been spent working with application development, design and modeling technologies. Carl developed an interest in usability during the early years of the client/server era when he saw the negative effects that easy access to GUI-building tools were having on enterprise applications and resolved to evangelize the importance of user-centered design. Donald Norman remains his earliest and most enduring influence.
