Scapin, Dominique, Senach, Bernard, Trousse, Brigitte and Pallot, Marc (2012): User Experience: Buzzword or New Paradigm?. In: Proceedings of the 2012 International Conference on Advances in Computer-Human Interactions 2012. pp. 336-341. Available online

This paper explores User Experience, a rather novel and popular view on human-computer interaction, through an extensive review of the literature. After introducing its polysemous nature, this paper describes the origins of User Experience, its scope, components and various definitions. Then, User Experience methods are surveyed, distinguishing processes, frameworks, and specific methods. The conclusion identifies a set of issues about the needs for increased User Experience maturity.

Chelcea, Sergiu, Gallais, George and Trousse, Brigitte (2004): A personalized recommender system for travel information. In: Proceedings of the 2004 French-speaking conference on Mobility and ubiquity computing 2004. pp. 143-150. Available online

This article concerns an emerging research field related to mobility from the transport point of view, linked to the travel information retrieval. To facilitate such a retrieval, we propose the use of recommender systems in a mobility context: these systems facilitate information retrieval, and help prepare the user's trip ("pre-trip": choice of the transport mode, schedule, route, time of the trip, ...) and carry it out ("on-trip": interactive guidance, way visualization, destination planning). This double impact is rarely exploited today and we propose, after a description of the used technologies, to illustrate the benefits of this new approach on a traditional tourist visit example. The originality of this approach lies in 1) its capacities to adapt the recommendations to the user's behavior during his information retrieval correlated to his own movement and 2) the on-line learning capabilities of such a system supporting information retrieval.

Despeyroux, Thierry and Trousse, Brigitte (2001): Web sites and semantics. In: Hypertext'01 - Proceedings of the Twelfth ACM Conference on Hypertext and Hypermedia August 14-18, 2001, Aarhus, Denmark. pp. 239-240. Available online

A lot of efforts done in the word of the Web aims to facilitate data representation and data mining. This is done most of the time by a syntactic formalisation of knowledge or information using languages such as XML or RDF using an hypertext structure. We claim that this is not sufficient and that we need to provide a way of specifying semantic (global) constraints over Web sites to be able to mechanically perform some verifications and proof-reading during the life time of the site, using some software engineering technics.
