Dr. Alvin Yeo is the Director of Excellence for Rural Informatics in Universiti Malaysia Sarawak. (coeri.unimas.my, www.unimas.my/ebario; www.ebario.com). His research interests includes provision of ICTs to remote rural communities, software internationalisation and localisation, and, the impact of culture on software development process, specifically, usability evaluation. In addition to eBario, Alvin has been involved in numerous research projects, related to his research interests and teaching. He currently supervises postgraduate students working on multimodal spatial queries, assistive technologies employing eye gaze in drawing, and collaborative awareness in computer supported collaborative work. He has reviewed papers for ACM CHI, International Workshop on Internationalisation of Products and Systems, APCHI and other human computer interaction (HCI) conferences. He has taught courses such as HCI, and decision support systems at the postgraduate level, and teaches HCI, project management, information systems in organisations, and strategic information systems at the undergraduate level. He earned both his PhD and Bachelor degree from the Computer Science Department, University of Waikato, New Zealand.
