Alan Colman is currently postgraduate student at Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne, Australia. His PhD topic is architectures for adaptive software systems, in particular complex human-in-the-loop systems. His research interests include
- Software organisation in open systems
- Adaptive and goal-oriented systems
- User-centred design
- Support for user autonomy in complex systems.
He holds a Master of Information Technology (HCI) from Swinburne. He has previously worked as a software engineer/interface designer, and taught software development at a number of tertiary institutions.
